Who Are We?

Achieve Behavioral Health was born out of a deep-rooted need to find a better way to lasting recovery. A way that didn’t depend on hitting rock bottom or casting blame on those who struggled.

We Also Understand

Underlying factors may be at play that ultimately lead to addiction—sometimes multiple factors. Biology and genetics can certainly predispose individuals to addictive behavior, as can lifestyle factors, circumstances, and traumatic experiences.

Our team of doctors and professionals will work with you individually to not only identify those underlying factors and triggers, but ways in which you can overcome them and free yourself from recurring addiction patterns. We offer a range of services that treat both the whole person, and the whole problem.

Properly addressing substance abuse is critical to providing quality care in an integrated treatment setting. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) employs specifically prescribed medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of substance abuse disorders.

This combination of medication and behavioral therapies is proven to be effective in helping some people sustain permanent recovery. Many individuals who suffer from a substance use disorder also suffer from other chronic health conditions. Our Integrated treatment programs incorporate substance use screening and treatment that is key to providing better holistic health outcomes.

Although certain biological and hereditary factors often play strongly into addiction, the mental aspect of addiction should never be downplayed. Achieve Behavioral Health provides counseling for mental health diagnoses in a non-judgmental environment. We educate individuals and families, stressing that these conditions are no fault of the client and that given the proper tools, guidance and support, each individual can live healthy, productive lives.

We help people manage all the difficult emotions they are experiencing related to both past and present events, giving them a greater understanding of their addiction and a better chance of overcoming those tendencies.

How Does Medication Help?

In a Medication Assisted Treatment program, the patient is prescribed Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) medication that reduces their withdrawal symptoms and euphoria from abusing substances.

This combination of benefits helps them stay committed to treatment. The medication part of Medication Assisted Treatment works by relieving the physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings. It does so by replacing the abused opioids with a medication that fills the same receptors in the brain that drive addictive behavior. When properly dosed, there are no adverse effects on patients’ mental, intellectual, or physical functioning.

How Does Counseling Help?

MAT also involves one-on-one counseling that helps the patient understand their thoughts and feelings about abusing substances.

The therapy part of MAT works by allowing patients to address the mental health and behavioral issues that surround their addiction. Patients can:

  • Improve insights into behaviors that led to addiction and the problems that addiction caused
  • Learn to replace unhealthy behaviors with healthier ones
  • Work to repair relationships
  • Provide encouragement and motivation to stick to recovery plan
  • Learn to recognize and avoid craving triggers
  • Learn how to better manage stress
  • Learn how to avoid relapse strategies
  • Find a community that is struggling with similar issues
